Now I grab my Pentax Optio S5i, slip it in my pocket, and almost forget I have it. I went to Hawaii for a week with my old Minolta 650 and my 28-300 zoom lens- an excellent film camera!! But I found that I only have pix of the first 3 days of that trip because I got tired of lugging the large heavy camera and zoom lens aroun d all day. There are many other point and shoot cameras out there with higher MP rating or wider zoom ranges, but they all pall in comparison to the primary advantage of this camera- its small size and portability, and it makes great images! I found that the best camera in the world is useless if you don't take it with you! I am an experienced amateur photographer with lots of cameras (Digital Kodak P880, Leica M6, Voigtlander Bessa, Topcon SUperD, Nikon 4004, etc) and enjoy taking pix of the family.
